The Radiation Safety Section
is responsible for assuring compliance with regulations set forth by the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as well as the Arkansas State Department of Health,
for the safe use of radioactive materials on campus. We accomplish
this by providing several types of training, radioactive waste
pickups, calibration services, personnel dosimetry to monitor
radiation exposure, as well as consulting support for all of your
safety concerns.
Waste Pickup
requests need to be received by 5:00
PM on Monday for delivery Tuesday. To ensure that waste will
be picked up, make sure waste is free from contamination and
all labels are completely filled out. Use one of the following
options to facilitate your pickup.
If you have any questions or comments about the University's Radiation Safety Program
or would like to schedule a class, please do not hesitate to contact Environmental
Health & Safety at 575-5448 or e-mail the Radiation
Safety Officer, Maksudur Sarder
